9.160 Bar license required to practice law; exceptions. (1) Except as provided in this section, a person may not practice law in this state, or represent that the person is qualified to practice law in this state, unless the person is an active licensee of the Oregon State Bar. (2) Subsection (1) of this section does not affect the right to prosecute or defend a cause in person as provided in ORS 9.320.
The Oregon section states the licence requirement and then says, in the same section, that it does not affect the right to prosecute or defend a cause in person. It points to ORS 9.320 for that right.
