Work out a deadline

This tool does not tell you which time limit applies to your situation. It does calendar arithmetic from a reference point you choose. The reference points below are indicative · each shows the section it rests on and the date that section was read.

Always confirm the exact time limit at the court office, in the statute, or with a lawyer. A missed deadline can close a recourse for good, and the starting point often matters more than the length.

What the calculation does, and does not do

It clamps month ends. A “one month” time limit from 31 January falls on 28 February, not 3 March. Without that clamp, ordinary browser arithmetic gives a date that is later than the real one · and on a deadline, a date that is too late means a lost recourse.

It does not account for holidays or postponement rules. Some rules push the due date to the next business day, others do not. The court office will confirm.

It does not know your situation. Several time limits can be extended by a judge; others run from an event only you can date. The reference point states the starting point the law provides for: it is for you to say when it happened.

Nothing leaves your device. The calculation happens in your browser; no date is sent or stored.
