Short answer
In Quebec, the Act respecting labour standards provides for 7 statutory holidays that are non-working days with pay (s. 60), to which is added the Fête nationale on June 24, provided for by a separate Act · 8 days in total.
In detail
The 7 days listed in section 60 are: January 1st; Good Friday or Easter Monday, at the employer's choice; the Monday preceding May 25 (National Patriots' Day); July 1st or, if that date falls on a Sunday, July 2; the first Monday in September (Labour Day); the second Monday in October (Thanksgiving); and December 25.
The employer chooses between Good Friday and Easter Monday: only one of the two is a statutory holiday within the meaning of the Act. The Fête nationale on June 24 comes under the National Holiday Act and applies very broadly.
The indemnity is 1/20 of the wages earned during the 4 complete weeks of pay preceding the week of the holiday, not counting overtime. For a person paid in whole or in part by commission, it is 1/60 of the wages of the preceding 12 weeks. A person who has to work that day receives the indemnity in addition to the wages for the hours worked, or a compensatory holiday.
