Case reference, court and jurisdiction, party names, author contact details, relevant dates and your supporting exhibits. Provide verified legal grounds where requested; the tool does not invent authorities or facts.
Review before filing
Confirm that this document is appropriate for the proceeding, use any mandatory official form, check confidentiality and redactions, and complete required signatures, swearing and service. A draft export is not a filing or proof of service.
Québec small claims: from your index to SJ-840A
Your PDF or Word index is a preparation document, not the official List of Exhibits. This handoff concerns only Québec small claims. It does not establish admissibility, file evidence or replace a review for another proceeding.
Prepare the actual parties, district, locality, court file number and the filer’s role. Describe each document on the official list. Leave the clerk-only withdrawal area untouched; its signature line is not a filing signature field.
Identify plaintiff exhibits with P and defendant exhibits with D, followed by a number; add the real court file number. Compare each reference with the actual item. The app’s inserted list is a text snapshot: recheck it after adding, removing or reordering exhibits. It does not attach or authenticate the originals.
Check the court’s dates: guidance specifies evidence within 10 days after formal filing of the application or response, and further evidence at least 30 days before a hearing. For judgment on the face of the record, the form refers to the clerk’s deadline. This guide does not calculate your deadline.
The official form asks for originals with the list. Keep copies and confirm the registry’s instructions for originals, copies and media before handing over irreplaceable material. File at the relevant courthouse in person or by mail; this process is not online filing through the app.
